• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

2008 610sm chain recommendation?

mconway

Husqvarna
AA Class
Desperately need a new chain for my 610.
There is obviously a wide range of prices.
Any specific recs?
X-ring? O-ring?

I ride just about everyday in the city and out in the twisties a few times a month, so the chain is subjected to a good amount of dust, moisture, grit, etc. I'm also not great about maintenance.

Thanks

I personally prefer DID chains as the "best bang for the buck." The last couple of chains have been x-ring chains; not because they're any better, but because that's what they had in DID.

I'm also not great about maintenance.
But this having been said, just get the cheapest 520 open roller chain you can find and change it every couple of months. If you don't maintain it, it doesn't matter what chain you use.

When it comes time for me to change the chain, I'll seriously look into the "DID 520 VT2 Narrow Enduro Racing X-Ring Chain"
I used to go through cheaper chains like crazy on a Honda crf450r. They would keep on stretching. I put that VT2 narrow (narrow because there isn't enough clearance to put a regular o or x ring chain on the CRF) and that thing has been rock solid. The crf450 has a much violent power hit than the te 630. So with proper lub and care, I'm thinking anyting that works good on it has to be just fine on the 630.
