Hi guys, like the title says i just picked up a 2007 tc 510 and took it out for my first ride, it normally starts and runs with no problems. it cold started fine and then I took off on some trails and had to stop, I shut the bike off and when i went to re start the bike while it was hot it did not want to start, i tried kicking it over probably 20 times with no luck. thinking it was flooded i left it for a few minutes before trying to kick it over again, the bike kicked back hard (hurt like a SOB) once and after i got the feeling back in my foot it kicked over and started fairly easily after that. when i turned the kick starter in so that i could keep riding it started making a clicking sound. when the kick starter is out in the starting/kicking position it is fine, no noise and the bike will start no problem. then any time i either turn it in to ride it starts clicking again.
the engine itself is still running great, I am just very concerned (possibly a little paranoid) about doing engine damage to this bike. after this happened i rode the remaining mile or so out of the bush with the kick starter out and packed up the bike for the day....
anybody have any ideas? I dont think that its anything serious but i REALLY like this bike...its a gorgeous bike and i would hate to wreck it or do damage. how much work is it to pull the kick starter apart on these bikes? I have mostly just worked on 2 strokes before and with the limited parts availability of these bikes i dont want to get it apart and not have access to what i need for parts
