• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

2007 SMR Fuel Injected???

StoeckerT

Husqvarna
I recently picked up an '07 SMR 510 from a friend of mine. I'm new to Huskies, and so far having a blast. From my understanding, they were carbed until '08? My '07 is EFI. Has anyone else heard of this, or can possibly tell me why? I'm finding that '07s are rare enough here in the US, but this is unheard of.

I appreciate that. It has a very clean title with 2 previous owners, all VINS match and everything seems kosher. I was thinking I could have been a late 2007. Anyway, thanks for the info. Makes it a bit more unique.

If your 07 has a throttle body instead of a carb then someone along the way may have transplanted engines. The diameter and bolt pattern of the intake boot area are different, and I believe they would also have had to add a stronger stator with more poles as came in 08 to support the additional draw of efi. Further, it'd have to be rewired to match the additional wattage output. Glad it works whatever type of hybrid it is.. I did the opposite, bought an 08 engine and converted her back to fit the carb on my 06 smr510. it would be cool to have found one released from the factory that way but I just doubt it that's all. Peace
