• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

2007 SM610 missing neutral and clutch wiring?

Cjkupers

Husqvarna
Me and a friend picked up the bike not too long ago and have been doing a top to bottom tear down of the bike and have found a ton of problems with the wiring harness... The previous owners have been hacking into it and I was wondering if someone could please take pictures of what all their head cluster wiring hooks up to as the clutch safety switch sensor is straight up missing...

We also cannot identify what the red/white wire coming off the key ignition tumbler is.. They crimped a plastic cover over it..

The left hand instrument controls have the two spade connectors exposed and connected to nothing, and the hole in the clutch lever perch has an empty hole where I suspect a depression switch was supposed to go.

We also inspected the main wiring harness for where the neutral gear sensor wire is supposed to plug into, but a single wire connector is completely absent from the main harness and now the neutral sensor has nothing to plug into. The last owners also tore into the neutral safety switch (the three wire dongle near the starter relay) and i would appreciate anyone who could take pictures of it to make sure we repair it properly...

Basically, more or less everything has an issue on the wiring harness and we're trying to fix it...

The bike won't turn over either, but the starter kicks and the cylinder moves up and down. I'll tackle that issue once we get the wiring issue sorted out.

Bump?

We fixed the cam rockers and carb, filled up the radiator with coolant and when starting up the bike, coolant was shooting out of the exhuast. Last guy to rebuild the engine did it wrong. We will pull the engine and redo the gasket and inspect the cylinder and coolant passages.

My question still stands though... Anyone have pics of their clutch switch, and how their neutral sensor is wired up? The clutch switch in the left hand perch is gone and we have to twist the wires together to hard bridge it and the wire for he neutral sensor is nowhere to be found on the harness. We would like to restore the wiring of this bike asap
