• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

2007 610SM How much to pay?

Two years ago I paid $4500 for my 07 SM610 with 54xx miles on it, perfect condition and properly maintained, full Leo system and tuned by Bill (was Bill's nephew's bike).

I'd say if it's perfect, has less than 20k miles and has the basic goodies done right $4k is about right for around here (Oregon).

i paid £2900 (which is about $4700) for my 2008 with 2900 miles on it and it was spotless. $700 discounted for nearly 4000 miles seems too expensive still, unless it has a load of extras on it? up to you whether you think the carbed model is better than the fuel injected

The carbed bikes have several advantages over the fi bikes. Of course there are also a few disadvantages.

Bike is located in northern Illinois, has a Barrett slip on, K&N filter and jetting changes. No other info.

got any pics? i'd probably offer him $3500 for it but would wanna mechanical inspection before i parted with any $$$. i'd check the cam chain tensioner and do an oil change on it checking the bag filters before i actually bought it. you could offer to pay for the oil so if you don't buy it he's got a free oil change out of it. will only cost you about $20 and you'll get a little insight into how she's getting on inside.

alternatively i'd pay a bit more and go for a 630. would probably be a smarter buy in the long run

I new to this style of bike and husky. Closest thing I've owned is a KLR650. What i'm looking for is an around town and short trip fun ride. Maybe I should just pick-up another KLR? Wanted something with better suspension and some more power.

Here is a pic, I assume a cam chain replacement will be needed it now has 6700 miles and price is 4000.00.

nice, she looks clean mate. not necessarily with the cam chain, mine's got 8200 miles on it and it still seems ok (haven't checked for a while though). best bet is to go have a look at the bike and inspect it, only real way you're gonna know. cam chain tensioner check is 5 mins work to inspect, then you could just ask how often the oil's been changed and ask for receipts. does look like it's been looked after but i'd still only wanna pay $3500-$3750 tops though

That is a fairly desirable bike.. Carb, no fuel pump, engine lasts a long time, nice suspension, can get decent fuel milage...

If is at a dealer, I'd be tempted to see if $4000 could be the Out The Door price.
