• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

2006 TE610: Brake Light Stuck On--Help

djminta

Husqvarna
AA Class
I have searched the internet looking for solutions to my problem, but could not find any information. My brake light is continually on. I just replaced the rear brake switch, but that did not work. I can see a slight change in the light intensity when I apply the front brake, so my service manager thinks that's good. I haven't had the bike checked by the dealer yet, thought I would check here first. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

Maybe the brake shaft is jamming a bit --have had that with a few of my bikes --remove dust cover at bottom of brake ---
( slide it down)

Spray some oil in the inside and work it hard with your foot up and down until it releases.

You can also disconnect the front brake just to determine if it may be the problem as well

Thanks for the feedback. Checked that with the rear brake, and it is moving like it should. I did continuity checks on all the wiring which were all good, so am down to the front brake switch. I'll try that.

Check the tail/brakelight wiring around the light. I had three exposed wires. Yours could be shorting out.

This may sound odd, but check the bulb is in the right way. (Upside down)
If anything changes when you use the brake lever, that suggests the switch is working.
If the light gets a little brighter, that could just be the taillight coming on

If I am right, find a new dealer. If they can miss that, do not trust them with your motor.
