    As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

    When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

    Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

    Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

    Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

2006 TE dirt wheels on 2009 SMR

Hi Guys!

I'm now a new proud owner of a 2009 SMR510. I really enjoy this bike!

I'm looking for a set of dirt wheels so I can go in the trails with it.

There is a deal close to my place for a 2006 TE250 and I was wondering if its wheels would fit my 2009 SMR510. Does somebody know the answer?? I would just need a front caliper relocator...

Also, are any other parts fit on both bikes? plastics, seat, etc.

I am reasonably sure it would work, sadly at this link, they do not list the 2006 TE250, but I have a copy of it:

In my parts catalog the Hub Assembly is listed as: 8000 96838 for the 2006 TE250
And from this link which will download the parts manual for 2009TE510: 8000 96838

Obviously you would need to re-do the brake caliper, at least on the front. Not sure about the rear brake.

Personally I would start a thread in Super moto: http://www.cafehusky.com/forums/super-moto.105/ - or better yet just call Halls (link above).

I'm reasonably sure that the 2006-2010(ish) bikes (TE/SM/TC250/450/510s) were all the same except for the obvious differences. Husqvarna seemed quite consistent in that time period. 2008 and newer got efi, but until the x-lite and 449/511 platforms were out there were no significant differences.
 
I would look for a TE front end if someone might be parting it out. The SM front end will be stiff for dirt and the brake mount is obvisouly different. Its much easier going from a dirt bike to an SM with a bracket to offset your caliper for a larger disc.
If Im missing anything here, others can chime in.
Triple clamps, fork legs, caliper, wheel, spacers. Having all these components will make the swap easier for you too. I wouldnt even attempt dirt riding with that monster front brake from the SM. I ride rocky terrain tho. Not sure what you're going to ride or at what level.

That becomes quite complicated to check for another front end!

I believe the SM has a 1" shorter swingarm so while the rear wheel will fit the axle area, the depth may be an issue.
 
The SM front end is wider on the SM than the TE. Brake caliper lugs and rotor screws are bigger on the SM.

The 21" front wheel will tear off the front fender too.

I bought a 19" front rim and laced it on an extra dirt model front hub after I tapped the rotor screws to a larger size.

I Run TKC-80s on it now and it is a decent dirt bike.

Yes, be careful of the big front rotor in the rocks.

The SM forks need a revalve for rocks.....WWAAAY too stiff stock.
