  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

2005 TE450 Pegs

I need to buy new pegs as mine are now bent.

I've searched the site and found Fastway to be a favorite.

Are the more expensive $250 Adventure pegs the only ones that will fit my 2005 TE450? According to the site that is the case but I wanted to check here, also.

The other Husky pegs listed are for 99-03 years only but cost $135.

Any other brands to consider? I'm going to look up MSR and Moose. I'm looking for a slightly wider peg than stock.

Thanks,
Mike

I always thought they did- JUST, checked the Fastway site and they changed it I think- now it looks like the only ones available for 2004+ are the new Adventure models- which look nice and don't look like they have anything to do with "adventure type riding (adv)".

BUt it appears as though that's just their site (maybe they aren't going to make the F3-F6 models anymore (for some models) or when they updated they accidentially made it look like there are no other choices but the new models) ??

They DO offer F3 Pegs and can be purchased at Cyclebuy as well as other places I am sure... http://www.cyclebuy.com/shopping/fastway/fastway_pegs-misc.htm
Cycle buy lists the part number for the F3 as: FW-22-3-113
For models: CR/WR/TE/TC/TXC 125/250/360/400/450/570 2004-11

I too have been concidering new pegs- I have looked at the Fastways, PivetPegs Rock Stompers, IMS PROS, Moose, as well as modifying YZ450F pegs. Haven't doen anything yet... BUT if Fastway is NOT going to offer the F3 models in the future and only offer the Adventure's I might make my choice quick! as those are at the top of my list... I do have buddies that have the Fastways and love them

Awesome find, thanks.

I checked Moose and MSR and they don't list any available for Husky.

IMS has pegs for $96/peg, I believe. Their pricing is not clear, though.

SWEET!!! let us know how you like them!
With Husky's sometimes its an easter egg hunt looking for specific aftermarket brands/models of parts- sometimes they aren't listed by one retailer for a part- but it is by another- OBviously parts are out there and some Retailers make it easier than others- you can always contact the "go TO" guys that are listed on the sponsor page- or other dealers that everyone always recomends...

PS_ I noticed that the Fastway "Adventure" pegs aside from being pretty and more costly are an 1.5" Longer (and same width)than their previous models (f3-f6)- meaning they stick out 1.5" wider horizontally from the frame on each side- might be compfy but I'd be concerned about them catching on in ruts and obstacles... something to concider for some anyway...
