  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

All 2st 2005 shrouds on a 2004?

I endoed my '04 WR in some 2ft sand whoops in 5th at Pine Hill.

I busted a asterisk knee brace and bent my subframe.

Anyway, I had an extra subframe on the wall waiting for this moment.

It is the dimensionaly the same and everything seems to fit...i checked the silencer and the seat so far..i need to check the airbox after I clean it. Anyway the new subframe has a gusset between the horizontal and vertical legs (right where the old one bent!). This gusset blocks the fit of the 04 side panels. I wonder if I have an 05 subframe.

Does anyone know if the 05 side panels from cemoto will fit the '04, or must I modify the bracing on the 04 side panels?

Thanks

Rich,
First... I'm glad you're okay! Maybe you have an '05 and later 4 stroke subframe? '05 2 strokes, which weren't imported to the US, have their own unique side panels. These went with their old style tank and seat (Same as your '04), not like the new style tank and seat of the '05 4 strokes.

I thought the same thing....but the silencer bolts right on! it's gotta be a 2 stroke.

Maybe I have an 05 Euro 2t subframe?

I see Cemoto has 05 side panels listed.

Maybe I'll take a chance and see if they fit...they are a little shorter than the 04 panels.

I'll be fine. had to stay home yesterday with a sore knee.

Busted the upper carbon fibre on the Asterisk brace!

2005 side panels work on 2001-2004's...

bolt holes are the same..they fit the old style shrouds so I dont think that will be your fix...

Thanks, I'll give them a try.
