Tim Collings
Husqvarna
Hello all, my name is Tim.
Just picked up a 2000 Husqvarna SM610S 9 days ago.
Title says 2000 TE610e. 13,000 kl on it. Where these originally TE610's and just changed the plastics when they got them here in the States? Going to take it to Hall's in Springfield, IL, have a service and oil change done. Throttle is a little abrupt at low rpm (jerky), so I'll have them look at the carb too.
Anyway, took it down to Maryville, TN for 4 days to break (me in to her and her to me) in the bike. First impression? Needs a little more power, seat modified and a bigger tank. So...
1) dual exhaust bike, does the single exhaust fit from a 2005 or newer?
2) does the bigger stock tank TE tank (I only want a 3.4 - 3.7 gallon tank) directly bolt on AND work with the stock seat?
3) what size is the stator? As I am wanting to run heated gear (gloves and jacket only) and maybe my GPS.
I am a tall guy, so adding about 1.5 - 2 inches of foam and have my upholstery artist finish off the seat with some cool vinyl is priority one. Then service and tank done after. So any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. So let's here your suggestions and maybe turn this into a build thread. I will add pictures after I go for my ride today. I live in central IL and this bike already loves the cool air!
