• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

1999 TE610 (or equivalent), Clutch mods updates anyone?

Anyone use motion pro cables (P/N 10-0041), or new OEM as good? Are there any better leverage clutch lever/perchs that you guys found?
I dont want to mod my actuator arm because it lines up so nicely with the engine cable boss.
I am looking for smoother activation and easier pull if anyone has got a proven mod to get there. (With my new cable I may find it or I am sure at least get closer)
Also the clutch pushrod screw adjuster on the pressure plate, any good info about free play and adjustment down there?

I just checked that clutch actuating shaft thing with the 80's ones I have and the seal is the same part number. A sealed bearing 6900DD can be switched for that seal. I have the bearing and it did fit and I got the seal kind of glued on top as well. Supposedly preferable to tampering with other stuff. The parts sheet seems that they have added a bushing near the bottom of that shaft for these single cam version. I think my more modern 125 has bearings top and bottom. Of course you could cut and lengthen the clutch lever and move the perch. I generally get the motion pro terminator cables, I see warnings they don't just burn down to the steel coil like what I consider a standard cable.

grazie Francesco, I was just deciding on the Motion Pro cable. I will start there. The main thing for me is not really the force (although it would be nice for it to be easier) but the smoothness and being able to slip the clutch effectively without the grabbiness (the new cable alone may just be the cure). One step at a time without going crazy on my low budget/hi performance DS legal machine. Thanks Rob
