• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Hi. Got a question. I think I'm right but I would like some pros to say yes or no. The 1986 models of 510s tc tx and te were yes the last aircooled husky 4 stokes. But I also think they were the only models ever sold in the USA that were single shock aircoolers. Am I right?

Your correct, 86 510's where air cooled , while every other 86 Husky was watercooled. You've got the best 510 motor Husky built,
I put mine in a dual shock frame (85) .

Thank you for confirming what I thought was correct. I have one te and two txs yeah just like you I'm working on a twin shocker for one of the engines. The te is done and I will Finnish the tx this year I want to show them. The last one I will save the frame but I want to put it in a 1984 husky cr 250 frame. With some mods. Those twin shockers were it to me. Dan Smith and Larry Roeseler hammered those bikes and kicked ass. It was good times for me in the desert

When I figure out how to get pics on here I will. All I have is a iPhone and I was born in 1962. I'm very very not tech savvy I can't figure out how to get a pic from my camera roll onto here. Any help out there?

you need to have a print scanned with a scanner. Or u could cheat & have some one with a digital camera
take a picture of the print.
