• Husqvarna Motorcycles Made In Sweden - About 1988 and older

  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

1986 Husqvarna 510TX PARTS BLING

Mini-Sponsor
I just got my parts back from the being anodized and polished. Very happy with the results and price too.

I sent a total of 26 parts (all parts not shown in photos) and both wheels to be anodized and polished hubs for a grand total of $450. The price included dis-assembly, lacing and truing of both wheels.

Check out the before and after pics of the swing arm.

J & P Precision Deburring located in So Calif did the work. Steve Bastin is the owner and long time rider who knows his stuff about vintage resto's.
All prep was done correctly with no filled in holes or threads. He even resurfaced my rear brake lining at no charge.
Take a look at his work.

Yes, I too like your bling. You're right - never enough.
I really enjoy seeing what others come up with. I take a little bit from everyone, toss around my ideas and try to come up with something unique.

My plan is white and blue theme for the thumper with just a splash of yellow.

I finished re-designing the graphics and have output them on my equipment for a complete face lift on the plastics. They look pretty.

Moto graphics is what I do.

schimmelaw - pm your address and I drop a newly completed small set of the "Made in Sweden" Graphics.

Hwy, please post up complete contact info for your deburring and polishing guy. I'll make a post for him in the vintage parts and sources thread.

Also - nice use of surgical blue pads****************************************

One more bling item(s) photo.
Phillip at husqvarna-parts.com supplied these custom made stainless steel braided cables.
The only one he did not have was the front hydro brake hose. I'm having SPIEGLER PERFORMANCE PARTS in Ohio (http://www.spieglerusa.com/) making the stainless brake hose. A little more expensive than Phillip's but no other choice.

Left to right: Throttle cable, decompression cable and clutch cable.

Nice work at a very good price... I haven't been able to find anyone in the UK yet that can do that for such a price...

Looking forward to the updates....
