• Husqvarna Motorcycles Made In Sweden - About 1988 and older

  • Hi everyone,

    As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

    When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

    Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

    Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

    Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

    Thanks for your patience and support!

if you compare a cr and wr swinger from 84, there are length differences at several places...not just where they added.

odd mod looks like they were trying to lower the steering head or raise the tank/seat [ was the guy way tall?] be interested to see how that one handles

yes bizarre !

swing-arms
WR = 57 cm
CR = 60 cm
your swing arms RUF = ?
Frame
because pipe ?
decompressor
is good !

No Michel, the rest of the frame is unwelded....
About the swingarm, look at these pics....
The original is shorter by 4 cm....

i just finished up adding the hva factory kickstand bracket and endplate things to the wr, as im building the 84 250. i sure have alot of blue stuff laying around, must have been a popular option back in the day.

It is a sort of Swedish blue I found under the burgundy 'powdercoat' that was on my 86 400WR frame when I stripped it. The PO was such a lying POS about that and everything else I got from him. It has truly been an adventure and it is nowhere near done yet.

lol, i have seen so many 80s huskies painted blue that some swear they came that way! but the white is always hidden underneath..
a real clown owned this 84 cr 250...drilled holes in the airbox for more ventilation and did right in front of the rear tire..

isn't it sad how some clowns can not see past their own shadow. my biggest "idiot" job was to tear down my Gemini 80 top end for a "look" as you do at 14...then wacked it back together. I wondered what those funny little pins in the ring grooves were for... soon found out! I made sure I found out all about engines after that little episode.

I sold a hot pe 250 to a young kid in 83 and he promptly destroyed it by leaving out the split pin holding the air filter wing nut on. a wing nut in the engine pretty much sh*gs it. His comment after I noticed the pin and wing nut was "gone" (after trying to get his money back!) was " I thought it would save weight" FFSake!
