    As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

    When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

    Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

    Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

    Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

1978 125wr crankshaft size?

Hi there
Does anybody know the measurments of the crankshaft, more exactly nr 38 on the drawing, crankshaft right part number 1610653-01

I am a bit worried that mine is not the original, hence the wrong flywheel, ignition and coil on my old bike. I am going to order a modern powerdynamo, but I am afraid it wont fit if my crankshaft isnt original

125s all have the same snout up to '82, '82 and later they have the same as the bigger bikes. Only a 125 crank will fit, a 250-up crank is too big to fit in the cases of the 125, but the problem is the snouts are replaceable on the Husky's, any mag size crank snout from any year or size of Husky could have been put in your crank. It is very unlikely the snout has been replaced, but you never know what has been done to these bikes over the years.
 
The small crank stub end should measure .540 inches at the small end of the taper. Take a look at this link, Craig at Huskyclub put together a lot of info on all Huskys. Don't think Craig is still doing business although the website is still up. http://www.huskyclub.com/ign.htm
 
That Husky Club picture is wrong, the parts books show the 125 crank snout the same 72-87 but it changed in '82 to the same one as the bigger bikes and Husky didnt update the part number.
 
Yes, the '82-'87 125 should be the same as the '82-'88 250-400-430-500. I ran into this problem the hard way. I used that Husky Club chart, and the Husky parts list, as a guide and ordered an ignition for my '82 125XC only to find out that it didnt fit. Luckily the ignition I bought did fit another bike I have, otherwise I would have been extremely upset.
