Hi,
I'm a new member here doing a light restoration of a '74 125 SC that is in pretty nice shape, and was vintage raced as recently as 2012. I just had the tank repainted with no clear coat, so I could apply the correct newer style decals. My question is regarding the white pinstripes bordering the polished kneepad areas. The person I had paint the tank is an experienced Husky tank paint person. He said he would put on a white stripe pinstripe decal, but that it was orinally hand painted. I have a really good pinstripe guy locally, but wanted to make sure they were originally hand painted in ' 74. If they were not, any good source for a quality set of stickers. I'm also having trouble locating the correct 125 SC engine side case sticker. Finally, all the '74's I've seen have the "new style" air cleaner, but mine has a round '73 style. i don't know if somebody swapped it for the old style along the way, or if like Maico, Husky used up the old inventory on a model change year early production bike. I like the look of the old one, but wondered if a case could be made for it being correct. Thanks for the help. When its finished, i'll post some pics.
