• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

19" tube in a 18" wheel...

Obviously it will go in there, will there be issues doing this? Anyone run it that way. I have 3 new heavy duty 19" tubes for my YZ which is gone and I have a flat rear tire on my TXC. I am assuming it will work fine but looking for any real world experiences / issues.

A little bit of it will be folded, but so what at low pressure...balance might be a challenge with the tube lump.

Don't think you'll have any trouble. It may chafe some on a fold but at low pressure that shouldn't be an issue.

Never tried it. Ive run a 21 in a 18 many many times, and curiously there is just enough extra to get a proper fold.

I suspect folding a 19 will be difficult. Maybe dont fold it at all? I'll be curious to see how it works.

Anyway, i usually get only 100 or so miiles with folded 21 tubes until they go.

i ran a 19" in my 18 for four day in lake view and it worked
just fine after the second day i did not even think about it
no fold just stuck it in and put in about 12 lb of air.

changed it out when i got home but did not see any
bad wair on the tube could of probably left it in and
would have been fine it was more of a mental thing
i with me. my opinion is it works fine.

K,
as MK said i too have used plenty of 21s in 18s but only as temp solution wouldnt not leave diff sized tubes in for normal use. the chafing issue plays out,, keep em for emer trail repair spares??f hook up one the 19" moto heads in your crew!RN

Dennis and I did a 19" Fatty tube in our Husky at Baja and ran it 500 miles no probs. Whats more tricky was in Luxembourg in 1990 I put an 18" tube in my RM 250's 19" wheel and it was tight but did fine.
