    As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

    When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

    Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

    Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

    Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

17" Rims and Road tyres on a TE449

Hi All new to the forum,

I have just bought a new TE449, I bought it for a load of everything, playing off road (greenlaning) riding on road especially in the winter, and possible track days,
I am also going to buy a set of rims for running road tyres, Do people buy 17" rims to have a large choice of road tyres, or stay on standard rims, and only have a small choice of road tyres, it is the back rim that is hard to find road tyres for.
The road tyres are also aimed at doing track days on tarmac

Also how can I be 100% sure that my bike is a 2013 version the latest?

Thanks I did do a quick search. Ordered the SMR Rims, and going to put Michelin pilot power's on them. Still need to look at the gearing to use on the road, and I guess speedo issues
 
What size rear rim width did you get? I have the more narrow rim and a 160 track tire such as the pilot pure I have on the back has a little bit of chain rub. I would def not go with anything bigger than 160 unless you have the wider rim. You'd be wasting your money on more rubber and less grip surface.
 
I think they are the Rims from the SMR 449, and the tire sizes are

Front - 120/70-17
Rear - 150/60-17

I have ordered the Pilot Power's I have them on my STR
Prob not the cheapest route, but I will use it more on the road at first than anywhere else. Just need to sort out the gearing, Ideas welcome :) and poss Speedo. Will track it for fun eventually, though I have never tracked day'd before so all new to me
Getting frustrated, the bike sitting at dealers waiting just for the registration to use it on the road :(
 
I used an enduro computer universal magnet kit. My speedo is about 5 to 6 mph high. My gearing right now is stock front which I cant recall the size..14 maybe..? And I put a 42 on the back.
