  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

125-200cc 165 pipe update

Well the first 25 FMF Fatty 200 SX pipes have been spoken for and John Kearney has ordered the next 25. I feel stupid because against Kelly's and John's advice I priced the first order of pipes with only a slight margin for error. Well after losing a couple of hundred bucks on the first order of pipes for all the hidden cost reasons that more experienced retailers know about, I am going to have to raise the cost of the pipe for the next 25. I am not talking about the initial investment in many different pipes to find what works. I am just talking about the 25 pipes total cost versus income. So unfortunately for those ordering in the future, I am going to raise the price to $270 plus shipping costs. I agonize over this kind of stuff as Kelly gives me the old I told you so. ;)

Still cheap for a custom made, bolt right up, pipe that makes a huge difference on the WB165. Thanks again for getting them produced.

Still not enough. You might break even there.

I hear you but that is enough for me right now is to break even. We will see where the kit goes from here when Husky introduces new stuff next year about this time. Will always produce it but if Husky comes out with a spanking new mid-displacement 2T then I am sure the kit will slowly be un-needed. If they don't do anything mid-displacement then I will probably buy enough volume for FMF to produce the entire purpose built pipe.

For my .02$, I agree with Kelly. You put alot of blood sweat and tears into that stuff.

As a side note,
It sure would be nice if someone around here started making the guards. (hint hint  )
