  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

125-200cc 165 kit?

It's a 125/144 bored to 165 and it rocks. Walt Smith a member came up with the WB165 kit and Motosportz a site sponsor sells it. The WB165 kit is complete making it a very easy bolt on deal. You send them your 125/144 cylinder and they send you the WB165 kit complete ready to go. They also have a FMF KTM 200 pipe made to fit the Husky ready to bolt on which really helps smooth things out even more. I have the complete WB165 kit with the special FMF pipe on my 08 CR and it's unreal just how good the kit is. Check out the video posted by ajaxauto on it.

i had a 2011 wr 300 and it was a handfull !! it hit like an atom bomb . hows the 165 in the tight and technical sections ?

Mine has no hit just smooth pulling power so tight technical work is easy and I'm a noobie in the woods. My son and I were testing out my WB165 today with a Rekluse EXP I just installed and it lugs and climbs like a much bigger bike without the hit. I can roll off from a standstill in 2nd gear and climb straight up and over our 3-4' berms we have. Fun power without the overkill. I have a 2005 RM 250 for kicks but the WB165 for the tough tight stuff. If you ever get down to VA you are welcome to take mine for a spin.

The 165 has similar power to a 150 but has enough torque to pull another tooth on the counter sprocket and still feel very very torquey. I hardly have to touch clutch when riding. Only to shift and stop.

THANKS FOR THE INFO !!! well its ether a Husky with a 165 kit or a 2013 KTM 200
Your welcome to try mine out but I will tell you in advance.......NO YOU CAN'T BUY IT! I was actually in the same predicament last year. Was looking hard at the KTM 200. Found a good price on a new one and then began reading about the 144. Took a chance and loved it. Then I ran into a guy on here by the name of Walt......and my WB165 was born. I'm glad I went with the Husky. I'm racing the VFTR have scramble this weekend. Whereabouts in north jersey are you? Read some of my race reviews under the "WR200" thread. I will be posting another one from this past weekend soon. Remember I came off of racing a YZ250 so I'm no stranger to power.

If your doing any of the ECEA harescrambles then I can hook up with you at one of those. If not I have a small off road loop at my place and a friend of mine has a pretty sweet off-road / mx track down the road. My usaul issue with riding is I work every weekend so that would have to be worked around. You wont be disapointed!
