  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

125-200cc 150/165 vs. KTM 200 ?

utopia

Husqvarna
AA Class
Has anyone with a WR150 or 165 also had an 07 or later KTM 200? I've been really wanting a 150 for awhile now and have a 200. Just wondering how they compare. I wish I could try one out, but I don't know of anyone around my area who has one.

The Husky is better in my opinion. I love my bike as a 150 and even more as a 165. Much more stable than a KTM. A KTM can't be ridden without a steering damper. The Husky doesn't need it. Powerwise I love the torque and power of the Husky. Feels like a weak 250.

I had an 09 200. I didn't gel with it. Didn't like head shake or power delivery
I like the 250 better. Maybe it's the over square motor on the 200.
Wrs take more work with jetting but more fun, easier to manouver and love the top end wrs are easier to ride in some slow tech stuff

I have an 09 200XC-W (as well as an 09 WR250). I never had any issue with headshake and I really like the power delivery, but as with any bike springs and jetting can make a big difference in those areas. I do like the Husky handling and fit better for sure. But I love the light weight of the 200. I've been racing the 200 for enduros this year mainly because of the light weight - but for trail riding I almost always ride the 250. Damn, I gotta find one of these little WR's to try out somewhere.

I have had both....08 200xc, 08 150sx, 02 cr125, 06 cr144....

As a taller person, 6ft, I felt cramped on the KTMs...so the ergonomics felt better on the Huskys for me....also the power on the husky to me, more off roady....and I did mess with the jetting and the pv springs... never had headshake on the KTM either....
