  • Hi everyone,

    As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

    When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

    Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

    Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

    Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

'13 310 TXC Starter parts -no show since November

...seems no one can get the starter/flwheel combo-ANYWHERES! Made several dozen calls to KTM/Husqvarna and all I get is, (them)"You need to contact your nearest dealer and have them diagnose the problem:banghead: . I already know what the problem is , (me:)"ALL I want to know is when they will become available "- (them) " you need to return your bike to your dealer and have them diagnose it":banghead: . (Me) could you at least give me an e.t.a. on parts so "if" I take it to my dealer ,I won't have to leave it for several months waiting on parts...it's apparent that they have been on backorder for several months according to at least 20 Husqvarna Dealers I have spoken to.(them) your dealer will need to diagnose your problem and order the needed parts":banghead: .I could go on and on but you can get the jest of it.IF anyone knows where I can "purchase 'the upgraded gear set-please let me know- Evidently ktm doesn't want to sell parts to consumers...:thumbsdown:...even though it "was" in warranty when it happened
 
I spoke to Ty about this earlier this week. I would like to manufacture much better ones than what is available through Husqvarna. Even their updated gears will only fail again.

You probably would have no problem selling them...even though the dozen owners I know need them, that kinda number would not make it worthwhile but I am sure there are a few hundred+ that need them- I have talked to many dealers who are waiting for several of them .
