I know there are a few different approaches for improving 1st and 2nd gear on the 2010 TE250s (gearing too tall) but I wanted to share my first impressions after installing a 12T cs sprocket from the 13T stock (I left the rear stock sprocket as is). I have only put one ride since the change but overall I think the change has been positive. I ride mostly st with a lot of rocks here in the NE where you're naturally stucked in the lower gears. Before the change I had to use plenty of clutch to get the bike up to its 'happy' zone. With the 12T I've been able to ride in 2nd comfortably in the happy zone and even 3rd gear.
This bike handles tons better in mid-high rpm zone and I feel the 12T cs sprocket has allowed me to ride in that zone whereas before I had to get there at the expense of the clutch.
If you're thinking of making this change keep in mind that the new xlite motors use a different cs sprocket than previous husky models.
