  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

12 txc 310 advice

Hey everyone, I'm looking at getting a heldover 310 instead of buying a 13, so I'm looking for some advice to "uncork" the bike and make it run a little better. If i can get a good deal on a 12 i can justify putting more aftermarket goodies on such as a rekluse, other than that i'm not sure where i would start. I believe i read somewhere in the forum that the JD efi tuner helps out a lot and the stock exhaust is akro correct? any other exhaust combos that open the bike up a little better anyone experimented? any and all advice is appreciated thanks!

The TE's really need it as far as I understand. Get an FMF'S and JD if you want to. I would be more concerned about protecting the bike with parts from 7602 racing and/or motosportz. They are both site sponsors here. I would change the sprockets based on the type of riding you will be doing. Have fun, the 12 TXC310 is amazing out of the box!

Of course, thats always a must do with the armor! I'm concerned if i'm going to be satisfied with the 12 as much as i would the 13. The price is right on the 12 but i've heard nothing but good on the red head.

Yeah, that's all dependent on you. This has come up already and it was a pretty split crowd. I really can't say enough about the 12 and its hard for me to imagine it would be that much better without a complete redesign. With all this talking about it the 12 may be sold already lol. At least it would make the decision easier.

I added and FMF header and Q4 to my 2012 TXC. Really opended it up. I was going to get a rekluse but the clutch and e start are so good I did not get on.

Thanks for the replies, I have read that thread i think it was the one that got me thinking about getting the 12 again! Yeah if i sit on this decision to long and the 12 is gone i guess i have less of a decision for sure! ;)

I sat on my decision last weekend and when I called Tuesday, they were all sold and had to get on a list.
