  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

11' 250 txc race injector/ecu

I will preface my question by saying that I have read EVERY thread related to my query. I have ridden an 11' txc 250 for a little longer than a year without issues or major upgrades(do have a rekluse core exp and and a lower geared final drive ). I ride almost exclusively single track, and I'm pretty satisfied with the motorcycle's performance. As I've gradually become a more competent rider, I'm wondering if Husky's race ecu/12 port injector is for me. I'm willing, but not excited to buy a pipe as well. Like most, I prefer not to spend $400-$1200 for an only marginal increase in bottom performance etc.. Maybe the 250 just doesn't have much more grunt to offer. Any real experience would be really appreciated.

Hi Robert,
I have the '11 TE 250 with the emissions removed and the TXC 12 hole injector/ecu installed. My main reason for the 12 hole injector and ECU was to get rid of the low end stumble/ bog that the engine had a low rpm's. As for an increase in power, I can't say I notice that much of a difference, but that low end bog is eliminated to my satisfaction and without spending the extra money on the exhaust. My mechanic owned an '11 TXC and he said the power increase with the Leo Vince exhaust isn't much to write home about. So I just stuck with the injector/ecu. I wish I bought the TE 310 now that I am used to the bike, just for a bit more low end power so that I can get the front end lifted easier over logs and step-ups etc. I am getting a rekluse installed on the weekend as well as the front suspension softened up and I can't wait to try it out. Hope this was helpful,

Laura

Its not going to give you much more low end grunt. The TXC 250s just don't have much bottom end. The ECU/injector combo is mostly designed to clean up the fuel injection and get rid of the low end bog as Laura said. I am running a 12 port injector with standard ECU because the updated ECU just wouldn't work in my bike for some reason. If you get the 12 port/ECU, you also really need to find someone with iBeat so that they can reset the TPS on your bike after install.

Laura and Phoenix,
Thank you for your input. The "over logs" grunt is exactly what I was curious about. I'll order it up and give it a go.
As for the Rekluse Laura, I'm sure you know this, but it instantly makes most, better riders. I'll try stuff now that I wouldn't even look at before putting it in my motorbike. Installation is also very easy, so don't pay unless you have to! Thank you again guys.

Yeah I need to try and keep as close to the guys as I can or I may lose them... and the Rekluse should help with the confidence for sure.. My biggest fear was stalling right in the middle of a difficult obstacle like a log or rocky step-up.. then falling over and landing on something hard.
It's funny that I go on Rekluse Canada website and the clutch for my bike is $900... plus tax and shipping.. etc. My mechanic is ordering it and installing it for $850 tax in... Go figure eh? It's pretty cold up here right now.. so I'm fine letting the mechanic do it.. He's also doing a shim job on the front suspension to soften it up for me. All last season was the test for the new bike and my biggest complaint was how stiff the front end is. Can't wait to ride.

My dealer thought it ripped after installing, I have been out of town and haven't tried it yet..... He also makes pipes, Uptite Racing. Bigger diameter, clean and simple. George 1 714 540-2920

I also think it might be key to making a Rekluse work well.

Good luck.
