  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

125-200cc 09 WR125 finaly comes home...

Went to the most awesome Taskys demo day. Rode the 09 CR125 which confirmed my 125 love and decision to get the WR 125. Bought the WR125 there and have it at home. The CR125 felt like it weighed nothing, ripped on top, handled better than any bike I have ever ridden and the suspension made it so you just huck it and land anywhere and it felt like it used about 4 inches of travel and just kept going. The new frame / geometry / ergos are things dreams are made of (to me). I had the feeling I could do no wrong on it. The Berg 09 450 and 09 CR125 were my favs at the demo, by far.

Did a few quick things on it like remove the reduculous throttle stop and took it for a little rip around the house on the street to get a heat cycle in it. I think i am going to like it. Has the same top end rip as the 09 CR125 as far as I can tell. Needs a bigger pilot jet as it will hardly run without the choke and had to turn the air screw all the way in. Odd.

What jetting did you guys end up with again?

Fit and finish on this bike is fantastic. It is a work of simple art. The 09 kick stand is VERY nice.

wow,,that is a trippy slide "bent radius oval" What carb?

That bike is a piece of art. The motor is like a little gem in a big setting,,,,man ,you could fly through the chassis with a small aircraft!!
Very very nice machine,,,,now get out and rail that thing!!! and report/foto/bling etc!!!
This whole downsize thing/idea is really catching on.

Mighty purty machine. I'm jealous. Oh well....I'm jealous of most folks right now.

Selling the TXC450 was a high price to pay for it but sometimes you just gota go with your gut. :D

I plan to trash the daylights out of it.

Very Nice looking machine...and I won't just say that about any bike ya know.:D

I see you didn't waste your time putting on that little piece of plastic the called a slip plate.

Does that mean....something is in the works already.:busted:

Thanx Kelly.

Wow! Sweet-lookin' machine!

From the side, it almost looks like an 80cc motor and pipe in a full-size frame. There's a lot of wiggle room if someone (like, say, someone that was 5'1" :D) wanted to make a smaller frame for that thing.

Throw it on a scale for me and tell me all about what kind of low end it has, please!

Huh, just popped mine open and it has a 15 ****************************************! Seems super small and the next size i have around the shop is 30. Your 09 WR125 has a 45? Weird. I guess i drop the 30 in and see. No wonder it would not run without the choke.

Didn't they give you the Power Up Carb Kit? Little cardboard box with Mikuni Genuine Parts on it. Has 4.0 slide, needle, jets Troy listed. If slide is 5.0 it didn't get installed. Nice to see one, I'm going through withdrawal.... Bike has been at P3 for the last week.

Your pipe has already got a ding in it...what'd you do? Tip over in the driveway!!!

Congrats on the bike your gonna love it.
The 15 pilot is for emissions(same as throttle stop), I'd heed Troy's advice as the mains are running 5/6 sizes bigger on this new carb as well.

power up kit will be taped inside the headlamp housing.....

The bike has a semi sorted beginning. :D few mangled parts when i got it from a little shipping carnage. It's all good, I smash it up good myself.

Norm, the box with all the crap did not make it to the demo day so it is being shipped to me now. I will have it all Wednesday.

I slapped in the 30 Pilot I had here and big improvement but still not perfect. Maybe I need to go even bigger? had a 380 main. Not sure what needle. Think it was the 5.0 slide. Should be fun to mess around and see what will work.

Very Very Nice! 125 WR's are the way to go. Twist the throttle and keep grabbing gears! Can't wait to see it with some bling :)

Is this for a 09 WR125? My main is a 380! the pilot was a 15. These are WAY bigger. Bigger number on the slide is leaner right?
