  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

09 TXC big tank options??

Woodsknight

AA Class
I need a big tank for this 09 TXC 250f. Is the Acerbis the only tank made for it? I have heard that the tanks break and leak? Whats the deal? I picked up a quick fill system, soo my pits will be fast but I really want more mileage out of a tank of gas. Also the stock gas cap leaks like a siv. Suggestions please????

dan did you take the silly trim piece off that goes on top of the tank? mine leaked like crazy with that trim piece on,once removed the gas cap can be screwed down tighter,no leaks, but you need to tighten it very tight either way

Thats correct, remove that goofy piece and the leaking stops.

Whoops my mistake, I meant IMS not acerbis. I will probably take my chances with breaking the IMS "wing" style tank and just get that. As for the stock gas cap, Yes I have already removed the funny looking piece but it still leaks. I am going to add an oring inbetween the cap and the insert to the cap and then seal it together. Hopefully that will do the trick

The stock gasket is a little temperamental. If it's not seated completely up into the cap, the sieve action is going to occur. Try "screwing" the gasket up to the top of the cap threads, then use a finger to seat it around its entire diameter. Had this happen with both my bikes until I found the sweet spot. No leaky now! Hope this makes sense.
