  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Hey I got an 09 te250 that I green plated and now I’m thinking of putting it back on the road .in Ontario Canada I need a letter from the manufacturer stating it came from the factory street legal . Does anyone know who to contact for such a thing? Thanks

If you know the dealer that sold the bike new (and they are still around) that may be best starting point.

(Relatively) local to you, Quad Experts is a current Husqvarna dealer but was also a dealer in the Italian days.

Rob Lang at Lang’s Off-Road may also know where to start.

I do know that new Husky corporate owner is not necessarily motivated to assist with prior issues. I imported a Husky from US not long after acquisition by BMW. It took forever to get the recall notice statement (needed by RIV process to register in Canada) saying no recalls affect the bike.

Give Dan or Anne at motoxotica a call. They are a husky dealer and should be able to give you a hand. I know they aren’t local to you, but they are some of the most helpful people I have ever dealt with.

The paperwork needs to show that the bike was originally sold as street legal in Canada, so US dealers will likely not be able to help.

Still waiting on husqvarna for my letter it’s been months. I tried to reverse the off road status today with a safety and photo of compliance sticker . Service Ontario wouldn’t do it .
