  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

09 TE 510 BROKEN OIL PIPE!!!

heyy guys long time no talk haven't been riding in some time got back at it. went to do a valve adjustment and when i removed the valve cover the oil pipe thats directly right of the cam carriers is broken off just before the bend down into the engine.
so this is what im asking has this happend to anyone before?
what is the purpose of this oil pipe?(where does it bring oil from and to)?
any ideas on what might have caused the failure?
and are the any related parts that i should be concerned with? i dont think its been broken for a very long time

yes that is a similar problem except the oil pipe on mine is broken on the opposite side its broken on the exhaust cam side bike seemed find during last ride except for some popping on decel which used to happen if my valves were a touch out so during the breakdown for a valve adjustment i noticed the broken oil pipe

I read on Thumper Talk last week on this same thing and George from up-tite said it's cause from the o-ring seals hardening / sending bad vibration to the oiling tubes eventually fracturing the tubes.... New o-ring and tubes and good to go.

thats some great news looking for new parts as we speak how about other damages what else could have gone bad because of the broken oil pipe cams valves ect?

parts on the way just a lil post bump anyone think i should have any other concerns? places to look for damage parts to order? or just replace that line and ripp again?
