  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

09 Sm510 Misfiring

possessedfiend

Husqvarna
my sm510 was running fine then the next day i go to ride and its misfiring. it starts but struggles to run and wont really accept throttle( usually dies) checked the spark plug and it looked fine but i replaced it anyways gaped it to the book specification of 0.027 in.
checked the fuel pump screens and all appears good tried resetting tps and still nothing, i hear the fuel pump when i turn the key on so i dont htink its that.
plz help its driving me crazy trying to figure out whats going on.

Check your intake manifold boot, for hard to see cracks, grab the throttle body and really give it a good back and forth, side-to-side push-pull.

ok so ive been busy my car broke but im back on the husky again checked the intake boot as metionded above and nothin dont see any cracks used carb cleaner on it aswell and nothing... any others ideas?

Might be the coil shorting out under the tank, some guys have had that happen on 510s, from the vibration, the coil might even be loose on the mount bolts. The grounding might be enough to start the bike, but any load, like applying throttle, and the spark dies out .

if it doesnt stall when i apply throttle it will rev up all the way and sounds fine when its pegged wide open
still sound like the coil?
