    As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

    When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

    Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

    Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

    Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

09 inner clutch hub. POOR Casting?

Long story short, my inner clutch hub had 8 hours on it when I took it out of the bike to put in the rekluse. Probs with the rekluse inner clutch hub caused me to want to put my "proper" clutch back in... untill I looked at the factory inner clutch hub.

It's been sealed in a ziploc bag with a tad bit of oil since being removed 3 months ago.... I may have looked like this when I took it out, I didn't really pay attn to it since I was putting in the Rekluse.

jeebus! are those cracks or casting flash? the inner flange has a chunk missing too! looks like gorrila wrench on the outer side. aint that covered under warranty?
 
Cracks man. They're all over it.

I contacted my dealership, but don't expect that they'll do anything about it. They're an excellent shop, but this thing is out of the 30 day warranty.

I just can't imagine what would make it look like this? I noticed some metal in my first couple oil changes, but didn't think much about it. figured it was normal. I guess it came from this thing. No metal in the last oil change.

my dealer honored a busted shock on my .07...thought all husky's had a 24 mos warty? :confused:

besides- the thing was clearly a pos before they installed it. i smoke a lot of clutches and to do that things have to be pretty black before then.

The warranty has been talked about a bunch before.. The 24 months I believe is on the "other" continents. In the U.S. I believe it is 6 months. Not sure if that is just the street legal Husky's though.. One thing for sure is that it never hurts to ask for some help from the right people.

I got no response from my dealer, so I sent an e-mail to info@husqvarna-motorcycles.com in hopes that someone will at least dignify me with a response. I can't figure out what's wrong with the rekluse, and would REALLY like to get my bike back on the trail. It's been on a stand in the garage for over a month... :(
 
I'd think Husky would like to have that one back to take a look at for the swap of a new one.

That looks like a junk casting to me, possible poured too cool.:excuseme:
 
Wow if that passed a casting inspection at the shop where it was produced,I have to wonder what the failed ones look like.There are standards that are required for passing these,sometimes the inspections are left up to the operator as part of their job,and then there are batch inspections which usually have run numbers associated with them,say 1000 to 3000 or whatever,that way they can track possible units that may be affected by whatever caused the problem.That one should have been tossed back into the melting furnance.I hope you can get some satisfaction,from Husqvarna but I believe you have to go through the dealer network for a warranty claim to even be started.
 
Not a good ad for Husky, I hope they take it back and replace it. A casting fault is their issue not yours. Good luck Mate. Guess we will see how much they care about their clients.
