  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Husqvarna
B Class
Not complete yet but here's what I got so far..

Removed left side exhaust.. Started drilling out rivets on both sides.. only the left side needs to be drilled out.. (I did both)

Once rivets are drilled out on (I guess you would call it the engine side) take a screwdriver or ratchet end and tap out the core from the exit side.

Cut the welds.. I used a dremel and a bunch of bits..

Remove core (should slide right off once welds are cut

I placed the mid-pipe back into the housing but will need to remove and place a hollow pipe inside along with exhaust packing as the exhaust will get HOT..

Will post more pics as I fix the left side and gut the right..

Awesome post! This info is especially helpful due to lack of after-market exhausts available for the 09 SMRs. Thanks motoxer311!

Are you finished with both? I made it for a friend on a SM510 2009 too. Never again. To much work for nothing!

Cut it with flex (don't no what it is in english) than removed the cat. really bad work had to go to a friend for help. never again. at the and we had to weld it. tomorrow i will make the other side, will post some pictures.

I will give a friend here in Hungary a bike (maybe yours :) ), he will make the slipon for the 09.

So i just finished with the other pipe. If anybody is thinking about making the same, let it be!

louder but not stronger.

the bike from WMRRA063 we modifyed too. He has now one exhaust from a TE510 with power up kit from 2008. the best way. more agressive and lighter.

sorry motoexer311 for using your pics, my cam was not charged.

<------- Lazy...

Still has 1 hollow exhaust and I need to re-rivet the left side.. Bike runs good and sounds good for being semi-stock..

I am actually looking to go aftermarket on my exhaust now, any ideas on who makes good pipes?

did you guys put it on the flow bench? Before and after? Also any pre /post sound checks? Curious to know before and after, R
