  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

08 TE450
Just another strange unaccountable event on a motorcycle here. Had all the wires mysteriously pull out of the connector on my bike. There is not enough wire left in the connector for me to see where to shove the wires back into and of course they do not directly correlate to the connector it plugs into, that would be too easy. I have the wire diagram from my manual but it just shows them in a straight line and that does not help. I need a starting point.

The black connector in the photo is coming directly off the black housing on the LT handlebar that houses the controls for lights/horn/turn signals ect. Its called the LH communicator in the manual. If someone with the same year bike could just post a photo of this connection I have pictured so I can can get a clue as to the order these wires go back in that would very helpful!

Thanks in advance.
Brian

Mine is a 2010 TE450, colors may or may not be the same......

Starting with the yellow loop wire, in the corner where it is solo, and then completing that 1 side:

LEFT H'BAR------------------------BIKE LOOM

solo Yellow------------------------Green with black stripe
Green------------------------------Blue
Blue with black stripe--------------Blue

White------------------------------White double
Gray-------------------------------Gray
Red--------------------------------Red with black stripe

Green with black stripe
with yellow loop embedded-------blank, nothing
Black------------------------------Black
Sky Blue--------------------------Medium Blue

Hey Brian,

I've got an 08 TE450 (it's for sale!). I'll get some photos/info tomorrow am and send them to you. I'm not near the bike atm.

Best,
Eric

Thank you this was a great help, just took a look at it and it appears to match up. Going to attempt the repair tomorrow. I'm not going to be able to reuse the factory connector as those wire crimp ends are totally stuck in there. Amazingly when I went to Radio Shack to look for those little metal pieces to attach to the wires to shove back in the plug they had a whole complete replacement plug that matched the Husky one perfect down to the triangle grooves. So if anyone has this problem head down there. I will update with a picture of the item from radio shack when I fix it tomorrow, hopefully if I have time.
