• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

08 SMR510 popping sputtering mid throttle

could be a bad fuel map, u map need to dyno tune it with ibeat or load differant map,

last time i trimed my base map (00) using a autotune i had a big mid range misfire when driven hard

Ok, I'm getting somewhere. I now have an iBeat and have set the TPS but cant set the FB without an o2 sensor. I mounted the JD on the bars to see where it was stumbling (because it still was after the TPS adjustment) and it was in yellow mode 2. I had to adjust it to 1 to get it to run right. The FB1 is set at 102-100-100 and I have read that 97-100-100 are the numbers. I set the TPS by getting the wot to 100.2% then excepting the tps mv which was 1001.

I am 90% there and need an o2 sensor to finish it, if anyone has one they would like to sell please let me know.

I guess he got it fixed, this from SMJ:

Yes I got it fixed. Basically with the bike in race mode (pipe, lambda) the bike runs very rich. After many phone calls with excellent SMJ members I tuned it in.
Bottom line is you need to be able to adjust the EFI bikes so you have to bite the bullet and get the iBeat and I purchased a JD tuner which is invaluable to tuning!

I mounted the JD on the bar, I didn't know this before I got it but as you ride the lights change color to the zone they are working in. So your bike is running like crap, you look down to see what color it is in, pull over and toggle to that color and adjust, freekin awesome! So the problem was my bike was rich in the yellow zone so much so that the minimum adjustment on the JD wasn't enough. My FB settings were 102-100-100 so I set the TPS and changed them to 97-100-100 and adjusted the JD accordingly.

113moto, was a great help in this and spent a lot of time on the phone explaining how to set it up. I will be happy to spread the knowledge/set up I have and set up others that live near me.

So if anyone reading this lives in the Greensboro NC area and needs a TPS set up or FB settings adjusted, let me know.
