  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Did some searching on the mid bog.
Found a lot on the 09 bikes with it.
Does the 08 cr125 have the same problem?

Mine had some mid bog with the Mikuni carb. One certain days the jetting was spot on and it rode beautifully. On a different day with similar temp, the bike could be finicky due to the carb. I ended up putting the PWK 38mm air striker with JD jetting (from Motosportz). Now, I do not have any issues with the low & mid range.

The Mikuni carb works fine on top. It's just how you get there. I did experiment with Walt's PV spring kit. It works very good at covering where the Mikuni lacks. Right now, with the PWK, I'm actually running the stock PV spring with good results.

I would say that the '09 bikes suffered more initially due to the PV valve and exhaust pipe. The Mikuni only made things worse. The '08 bikes suffered only due to the finicky nature of the Mikuni. Some folks like Ajaxauto with his '08 had no issues, so the riding region may be a factor here too. I do believe the '08 CR125 minimizes the mid bog since it revs much easier than the WR's. That is, you can "punch" through the bog zone since the engine spools up quickly as you dance through the gears.

Race gas really helps & even sometimes cures the bog,I know alot of people dont like to spend the $$ but it really helps. {Doma pipe works awesome also but very hard to get or even find in this country anymore.billf
