• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

08 cr 125 hot start issue

Husqvarna
A Class
my 08 fires 1st kick with little to no throttle input when cold. when hot you have to turn the throttle wide open to get it to fire. Its got a 32.5 pilot, power now, and whatever the stock main is .. 400 I think. running 32 to 1. any ideas on what is up??

I have had the carb off several times. The condition developed two rides ago before I put the power now on. It did not fire on hte first kick until I put the power now in. I last had the carb off when pulling the rear shock. It always took a few kicks to get it going when warm. I attributed this to the Golden spectro non synth oil I was using for break in and the 35 pilot

Might be but I ask.........Resistor plug or not in it? Must use an R (resistor plug). Changed plugs and used a non R once and had same exact scanrio happen. Was weird and had me scratching until I noticed. Changed to an R plug and back to 1st kick......hot or cold again.

Good one Joe. My new CR125 04 would run fine till about when it was about to hit the powerband and then just die, as in roll to a stop. I was confused. Changed to an R plug and it ran perfect.

br9eg .. So I guess we can rule out the plug. did not have time to check the air screw, I'll play with that next

Until you noticed? I remember it going a little different!:busted:

air screw was set at 1.5 turns out. I messed with the idle to get the bike to idle a bit. I noticed while playing with the air screw that unless I went to an extreme I could not tell a huge difference when messing with the air screw. Should there be an obvious change in say going from 1.5 to 2.5 turns out. On my gasser there is a point where the revs pick up a bit and it is easily heard. I couldn't really hear much change with the tmx. I left it at about 1 3/4 out.

current set up is 32.5 pilot, 390 main, 32/1 spectro sx synth air screw is around 1.5 to 1 3/4 out. Spark plug looks as good as you could expect it too, nice mocha brown. Starts first kick no gas when cold. idle set maybe a smidge fast, but maybe not ... after running it, still needs the throttle cranked up to get it to fire. It fires easier than before but still needs full throttle. any guesses as to what is up?? or is this kind of normal

Have you checked the reeds? Not sure how they could be messed up without causing other issues, but maybe worth a look since it's so easy to check. Also, the pilot may be a bit small for the '08. Our '09 did fine with a 32.5, but the '08 uses a different TMX. Try going back to stock on the pilot.

was wondering about the 32.5 pilot, stock was 35 but the power now instructions claim it will richen things up so I went down one on the pilot. guess I'll throw the 35 back in and see what happens
