About 3 months back, my mech replaced the 2 intake valves, including all new gaskets, springs, seals etc. He had the new steel valves cut down because the ones I ordered were too big, they're for '06 bikes. After the job, I have to re-shim the new valves twice within 3 months, seems like they're wearing out fast again. Mech says it could be valves surfaces not hardened after re-cut. So I guess I have to redo the valves replacements again. Need some advice on the following:
1) Have anyone tried the Pro X valves before? They have steel ones for my bike's year, and available from ebay.
2) What about the wiseco titanium valves?
3) Should I just stick to the oem titanium?
4) For a repeat job within such a short time, is it advisable to just replace the valves? Reuse the head gasket etc. If not, what would you replace?
5) Can the cylinder head be removed without dropping the engine? I send only the engine to my mech previously.
I am pondering on what to do next and will appreciate any advice. Thanks.
