  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

250-500cc '02 WR250-what's it worth?

What do you think an '02 WR 250 is worth these days. A friend has one for sale. Probably needs a top end, has new clutch and basket, new pegs, and kickstarter. Haven't seen it yet but I trust the guy to be straight with me.
My understanding is the motor hasn't changed for years, suspension is dependent on the year and the plastic changes every once in a while.
I miss having a two-smoke in my garage. It would be a great companion to my TE 300

I had an 02 WR250, was a great bike. That ones sounds a little beat because of what it needs. 1400-2000 would be about the range.

Pete,
I sold my '00 with title for $1500 last summer. It needed a a top end, but was otherwise solid, with 2 new Michelins.

Thanks guys. Hey Norm! Got screws?:D

I need to take a good look at it but he said he's willing to sell it to me for $1000.
What items should I look out for? Is there anything specific to the WR's?
I know the standard-bearings and whatnot.

if it is in good condition grab it. Very durable long lasting bikes.

its worth about 200 bucks but I will give 250 being that it is the season for giving....

1G is hard to beat, just be ready to throw some cash at her to get her back up to speed.

Screws in place, but I'm in Sled mode at the moment. Weather is going to warm up, so it looks like back on the bike!:oldman:

Yep-I'm screwed too. Just went to the Ridge Runners ride-50 miles of the famous Hancock hills south of you.
My sled is ready but haven't got it out yet. Frankly I enjoy my bike better:thumbsup:
You've been using that :oldman: a lot lately-getting a bit crotchety??
Any snow scrambles near you in Jan?
