  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Husqvarna
AA Class
I want to make the lights work on one of my Motoplat equipped bikes but someone has kindly cut and discardeD the wiring, all I have is a yellow wire from the generator. I have had a search but I am struggling to find any wiring diagrams. Could any one point me in the right direction please?

The yellow feeds into the voltage regulator (to cut the volts down to 12v). Power is then taken from that for lights etc. Attached is wiring diagram.

Kind regards

You will only have a single yellow wire out of the Motoplat. You hopefully also have the wire to the coil as well

pretty much whats on my 400 but no regulator..or I didn't notice it:rolleyes: might have a look.... maybe why the taillight lasts 2 minutes:thinking:

116.JPG117.JPG Making some progress, got a regulator from another Husky but it has two wires, what purpose does the black wire serve please? I assume the yellow wire is just teed into the lighting harness which is fed by the yellow wire from the generator?

I put one on mine Steve. Cannot remember how many wires it had. I can whip the tank off and have a look if you want.
Bought mine from Electrex World. Saved me a fortune in headlight bulbs !
At a guess, with a two wire system, one goes to earth and one tee's into the feed. Let me know if you want more info.

Thanks for offering, but then I remembered my 430 had completed two H&H,two scrambles and several practises with the headlamp on, all on the same lamp!! So I took the tank of that and too be safe borrowed her regulator!! My lights work now, just the brake light to sort:)
