• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Where is this oil coming from?

I know about the rocker box oil leak on these Cagiva Huskies.

But..I pulled the tank off (stupid nonsealing quick disconnects), and
there is not oil coming out of the rocker box to head sealing area.

Could this be the valve inspection cover gasket, or the bolts that
apparently wick oil?

Please shout out any advice. I'd like to clean it up and then run
it to see where it is leaking from...but with EFI how can I do that
with the tank off?

Looks like you're using google photos. They don't embed well. You can link to them though through the sharing settings in photos.

Okay I just moved them to photobucket.

Now can anyone see an obvious place I may be leaking oil from (valve inspection covers, bolts with out copper washers).
BTW Husky REALLY crammed those radiator right up to the heads. Not like all my KTMs.

How's the seal on that crankcase breather hose? Oil gets blown up the hose, then can run down and sit at the hose/nipple Union and wick out maybe? Clean it up, ride it some more, then look for the leak, it may be more apparent if it's not everywhere.

Ahh good point bushwa. Thanks.
I'll tight down all the hose clamps, clean it up and run her again.

Since the quick disconnect leaks, any idea what the minimum amount of gas
I need to put in to run the bike?

The phillips screw by the head to frame mount may be loose. It holds a tin oil baffle for the breather pipe and it may be worth trying to tighten. (Visible in your second picture) I rebuilt a 610 a few months ago and when I took the baffle out for cleaning, the screw on mine was loose and probably leaking oil. I put a dab of rtv under the screw head and 243 loctite on the threads. You may not want to remove that screw entirely on an assembled engine. I also put copper washers on the VC bolts and don't have any signs of oil now. The same copper washer as used for the coolent drain on the cylinder is a good fit and inexpensive.

It looks like the oil feed line banjo bolt and / or the allen head rocker shaft retaining bolts could also be leaking on yours.

Hi, Jtemple

A long time since the last time you posted in HuskyCafe. Is everything alright? I miss your comments, as you seem to be a quite clever guy. (not to mention other guys of the forum, of course) :)
