The ebay link takes me to a rear wheel spacer for a 1970 360 Sportsman.
I run the 77/78 black leg forks, and there is no spacer other than one that would be used to replace the speedo drive.

Just looked ......... it is the internal part of the speedo drive, so yes, the one pictured in your hand looks like the one in the right side that usually has the peg drive stuck to it.

The link does take you to a listing for a rear spacer, but the part no. is the same as what is listed in the fiche. The ebay spacer appears narrower, which seems to be what I need. But if the one in my hand looks like the one that is supposed to be there, then I'm back to square one. Can anyone tell me how much axle cap overhang they have on the black 77/78 forks, or are the nut bottoms tight up against the forks?

Bill 502 thanks!!! Looks like I am chasing a problem that is not there - your axle end caps stick out a bit too.
