Ok what's the most popular sought after model of Husqvarna bike? Let's say between 1972 through 1987?

The evolution, the milk trucks, the 70's to 80's what's the hot ticket??

    Your thoughts ????

Judging by the around the world for sale list I'm going to say the '83/'84 250wr's/240wr's seem to be very popular. The milk truck models. I can't leave out the only milk truck single year model the '83/430wr, ac.
I never knew how really popular the Husqvarna bikes are.

In Sweden the 400's were very popular 84-86. But there are also a lot of 250's around. For the 70's the 400 CR and 250 CR are the most popular models from what I have heard. Love my 85 400, but not enough, ways to go still.

Just bought an 86 400 xc basket case, and I do mean basket case. All parts are in boxes. (This is going to be fun)

I have 2 87 250's a CR and WR, real pleasures to ride
also have a handful of the 430's, the magazines accidentally liked them that year, even though the were euro bikes
the disdain i mention is the magazines trashed Husky in the day
but most love the milk stuff

I hear a lot of fond memories of the LC 400's (granted I'm tuned into those, as I have both the memories and the bike) and "Milk Trucks".
Don't forget the Steve McQueen 400 Cross Country 1971 or so.

Then there are the less common and/or single year bikes. Not sure about the market, but people (myself included) have trouble passing these up when we find them:
500's, automatics, silvers streak, you mentioned the 83 430, maybe to a lesser degree the '85 WRX's.

    Any works/prototype Husky.

I like the 390cr but some riders I let try mine liked the 250cr way better. I'm guessing the hit scared them. My 390's were stock.

I had 2 82 Cr 250s and a 430 Xc same year. Man those bikes seem tall! Or maybe its because I am old and fat and cant lift my leg as high.:oldman:
    That's why I plan on lowering the 86 400 2 inches.

I'm going to say the early to mid 70's bikes were the most popular back in the day. Once the Japanese on slot came all the European bikes suffered. But in todays world I will say that the Early 80's bikes are the most popular in Vintage MX due to the fact that they had Drum Brakes and Twin Shocks later than the others and that makes them very competitive. But for play riding and Trail Vintage Enduro the Milk trucks rule as they were probably best in class at the time even if they didn't sell that well at the time. And they can compete with a modern bike except they are probably more fun.

Rocks can be our friend when we get on the bike. I use milk crates, the trailer loading ramp, sides of the road that's higher than the road to get my butt on the bike. But I'm going to have one lowered bike too. I can't start them so I pop start them. Try not to stall them. Luckily there are hills so I can pop start if I stall them. Advise if you ever pop start remember to use second gear on a 390cr.

Sure we need two, backup bikes. I had four 390cr's running years ago now I have five 500 engines right now. Three 430's, three 250's. A 390or, 390cr, engine and a 420 cylinder. All the frames and parts to build them.

Get Building Bill! The 420 auto is my favourite auto. The 500's are best when manual.
