As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.
When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.
Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.
Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.
Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.
Thanks for your patience and support!

Troy F Collins;99520 said:European antifreeze boils down(no pun) to two types......orange long life DIN G 12 or standard life blue colored G 11
Husqvarna uses the blue G11 type..I honestly would not recommend mixing the blue G11 with anything else....they might be tolerable but they are two different formulations altogether....
the Honda coolant which is standard ethylene glycol would be fine only if you drained and flushed out the blue OEM coolant....
any Volks..Bmw..Merc..dealer will have a jug of blue G11...and possibly zerex makes G11 as well

I use VW/Audi G11 to keep it simple.![]()
alkrisma;99501 said:Troy, the coolant in my TE310 looks green not blue. so stick with green, correct? (unless I flushed radiatiors etc). my dealer sell all euro bikes (except for indian), I'd have thought they would have used blue?
Troy F Collins;99709 said:Good pics and I can see the overflow bottle is filled with green colored ethylene glycol....
Possibly it was topped up at some point.......and as often is the case the G11 is not as readily available....
like I said its possible that mixing it MIGHT be ok...or perhaps the whole system was flushed out and replaced with green.....
in terms of adding coolant or top up its just makes sense to put in the OE stuff......
Troy F Collins;99718 said:take the rad cap off and verify.....its probably blue
someone likely topped up the overflow bottle after the fact....it would not have been shipped like that....
yes the bikes are factory filled and sealed with the rad cap
Troy F Collins;99753 said:I have an 09 as well and its blue agip cool G11...perhaps halfway through the year they made a production change....
sounds like your good to go....everything is fine
Krieg also mentions engine ice...thats always an option too
glad we cleared up things a bit and sorry for the confusion![]()
