As I was getting ready to head to pick up a TE300 a buddy messaged me that had a 16' 250X just over my $5500 budget at $6000..... Needless to say I said awesome bike but I'm capped at $5500 and he said ok come and get it..... Needless to say I have a 250x with Tusk wheels, ProTaper bars, Protaper Levers, IMS tank, Gnarly Pipe and silencer, EE Radiator guards, EE Hand guards, and every breakable part had extras.... Now off to the races.....
Those are great bikes! BTW the rear sprocket on that bike will last a really long time and the chain will last longer too because the offset teeth clean the mud out of it. I had one on a YZ450 and it did great.
I still have the 86 430xc..... I really cant believe I went to a Yamaha.... lol Test ride in the yard unveiled a beautiful motor.... the power is sweet..... first ride Sunday Sunday Sunday..... Enduro next weekend...
you will not regret for second your bLU cRU choice that bike is a perfect machine, pending your small personal tweaks. That chassis and engine is fully developed and very well tested, it's a very mature design from an engineering standpoint. PS for sure that isn't the darkside..
There's a big following getting bigger every day for the 250X and 450X out here in the Dez. There's something to be said for a reliable machine that just works out of the box and doesn't hurt your hiney hole with the price and parts.
Is the x a 5 speed? I thought I remember reading somewhere that they were going to put a 6 in it but couldn't recall
Well a little update.... sold the tank, wheels and pipe for $800.... so I guess I have $4700 in it now.... lol
Hey if it works for you that's all that matters. I know I personally pretty much have to have a six. Just my preference though
First ride was awesome..... Unbelievable bike..... I'll write a full report in the non Husky bike section
I did 3 hours of single track at a Missouri Trail Riders Association (MTRA) poker run this weekend and noticed at least 4 new Yam 250Xs. They seem to tractor really well and rip when you need it but best of all they are ready to go bone stock with a little re-jetting. I'm looking forward to your ride report.
