I am currently running the 36mm Keihin carb and the exact same jetting as on the 144cc top end but with the following changes. I had to back out to 3 turns on the air screw and drop 2 main jet sizes. From a 175 down to a 170.

Dwight you have an Up-Tite 167 that has been massaged by Walt, not a WB165, correct? I running same jetting as my 144.

I remember when Kelly and I took it out for it's maiden voyage, he was saying the jetting wasn't messed with from the 144 kit that came off it, and it did run super strong.... Seemed spot on with that pipe...

Correct. I was way rich on the Main jet with the 167. Jetting should be the same on the 165 and 167. Only 2cc difference. The UpTite kit has a spacer plate and the WB165 doesn't so the 165 should have more crankcase compression. I do wish someone made several sizes smaller pilot jets for the Keihin. It actually needs leaner than the 35 that is in it. I am 3 turns out now. I was 2 3/4 turns out with the 144cc top end.

Here is a "blank" template for adding your WB165 bike setup. Norman had a good suggestion to include Gearing in the list (it's included below).

This thread will remain separate from the 125/150 Jetting Database, while everyone works on the development of this bike setup. Later, I will merge the posts into the other database after the product matures.

You should copy and paste this list below into your reply. This will help keep a common format.

I agree. Mine surprised me all weekend. Did everything asked of it. the 14/52 gearing with the Pirelli MT16 110/100X18 was a great choice. The new pipe seems to work well. Just need a pipe guard.

    Dwight,

P-3 is making the mold so that we can all order the pipe guard for the 200 SX fatty from them.

    Air screw setting = 2.75
    Slide = 7.0
Conclusions/Results = Today was my first ride on the WB165. I initially ran my 125's winter jetting to be safe. Temperature today was 60 F. Actually, the jetting turned out to be pretty close. I had to turn my air screw out to 2.75 turns. The pilot will need to drop one size to 45. I also did a WFO throttle chop test and the plug looked good with a light chocolate brown color. For now, I will leave the main jet alone. Overall, my bike pulled clean through the range so I don't have any complaints yet. I'm loving the 165!

    UPDATED: 21-April-2012
    Changed jetting to the following:
Spark plug = Changed from BR9EG to BR8EG
Pilot jet = Changed from 48 to 45
Air screw setting = 1.5 turns

Conclusions/Results = Temperature today was 50F. The 45 pilot was good and my bike pulled clean through the range. As the temperature warms up, I will need to double check the main jet. Right now, the plug is light chocolate brown so I'm happy.

The first part of my ride used a BR9EG plug. The jetting was acting up from idle to 1/4 turn. I played with the air screw a bit and improved it some. I felt my cylinder head and it was only moderately hot. I decided to swap the plug to a BR8EG (my favorite plug when running my 125 previously). This worked much better and my engine finally ran cleanly like I wanted.

Why all the fat main jets?

my stock 125 is perfect with a 172 near sea level (1000-3000) and it has less vacuum than the 165 would, in theory. I'm only wondering cause chances are good the 125 is getting a big boy hat and becoming my sole woods ride

I wish I had an easy answer for you. The 165 just wants to have extra fuel on top:excuseme: . I also had to lean out the pilot/slide so that makes sense.

I haven't settled on my final jetting, yet, so I won't do the whole list. However, I can attest to my kit's need for a fat main jet--I've got a 190 in my 38mm PWK.

    Dave,

I am far higher than you and I am at a 182 and feel at times that I could go bigger when it is colder. Then you have guys with stock 125 jetting with good results. I am still completely baffled by the varience in jetting from one Husky tiddler to the next. You should pipe yours up too as I think it helps a little on the jetting. Pm me and lets talk.
