  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

I would have gone crazy without the kickstand!

Later,

Jemtteer what is on your rear fender and where did you get it? How do you like your TXC I have only about 3 hrs on mine need to get lots more seat time****************************************

That's the husky fender that comes with the "race kit" power up stuff to eliminate all the TE stuff. I believe UFO makes a similar part as well.

I have ridden Jake's TXC250 many times and it is a fantastic machine.

Yep, Like Kelly said it is the UFO Phantom tail light assembly. I ordered it from the local shop through parts unlimited, it was in the $40 range.

I love the TXC250, it is a great bike! Very easy to ride and I am stilll amazed at how good the stock suspension is. I just need to ride it more.

Later,

Thanks been trying to decide what to do about the new plate law here in Idaho so far I have it duct taped to the top of my fender. I wanted the 250 but Mototec had a end of year deal on their last 450 TXC and thought what the heck its just a little mor power!!!
Thanks les

Some of our first run the spacers were not long enough to space it out. This seemed hit and miss I'm guessing due to where the lower mount is welded. The simple fix is to add a washer if it rubs. We ship them with a little longer spacer now but did not want something that stuck way out so we tried to keep it as close to the bike as possible.

Double check if yours rubs and if it does simply add a washer to the lower spacer and or the top rear mount / spacer.

Jeff, as i said in our PM's sorry yours rubbed.

- Also if you crash on the left side hard enough it can and will bend it in. There was no EZ way to design this unless you want to weld on your frame. We did the best we could to provide a solution that was bolt on.

Thanks.

Actually I added a washer and it still rubs. It has not been crashed.
There is alot of flex in the bracket itself. I ended up making a L bracket that ties the chain roller bolt into the footpeg pin. This has stopped the flex.

Jeff, if your not happy with it contact me and we'll take it back. You are the only one that has complained and we have sold lots. Don't want unhappy customers.

I already contacted you right after it happend, you never mentioned that you would give me a refund. You just said "put a washer behind it". You didn't even appologize untill I asked you why you hadn't
It's not the product that I'm unhappy about, it was the way you handled it. You told me in the earlier conversation that it had happened to a couple other people but now you say that I'm the only one that has complained?
I could send it back but I still have a swingarm that has a damaged finish.

No need to discuss further, I was just letting people know to make sure that theirs doesn't rub the finish off their swingarm.

OK Jeff, I'm sorry (again) for this and sorry your so upset about it. We have always been super flexible and bend over backwards. You can't please people all the time. The offer stands, all you had to do is say you wanted a refund like you would with any other company, you did not. I feel real beat up over this and I know your not happy ether. Very unfortunate.

Correct, the other 2 other early customers said "no problem, a simple shim will fix it"

Husky batteries eject and take out the filter, graphics fall off, the pipe burns the airbox, the forks are harsh. Things are not always 100% no matter how hard you try. We try hard with what we have and is sucks my multiple PM's and multiple sorrys are not enough for you.

- If there is anything i can do within reason to make you happy at this point I'm all ears.

So this thread is getting some feedback! I have a question for Jeff what did you make your L bracket out of and do you have any pics?
Thanks
Les

Got my kickstand sat an installed it sunday. It went on easy! For a short guy this will make life easier if I have to kick start this beast. Very nice product.
Les:D

So just lean it on some thing or how do you short people kick start a tall bike? That is why I went with the 4T so I could get the magic button. Dont always want to have my kids (taller) pitch in to help their old (short) dad!
