  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Time is coming to rebuild '06 te450

Time to rebuild my '06 te450 is coming.

So I searched this forum to find the sites selling rebuild parts for the bike.

I found a few site for some parts such as piston sets (ebay), decals (also ebay)

But I can't decide where I can purchase valves, con rod, gasket sets,

valve oil seals, etc.

Del west, hall's cycle.... I read lots of posts talking about that.

But there is no parts for 06 Te450.

How can I find the parts for rebuild?

Which site is the best for Husky parts?

I am about to regret to purchase husky instead of KTM. T T

Please rescue me

Take it apart first do a thorough inspection then find what needs replacing, valves, for example, mine were exhaust only bad, intakes cleaned up perfectly. piston and rings for sure, i also did my shift drum, all crank bearings (crank rebuild), new cam chain and guides, new seal kits bottom and top end, cams were good, as were the gearbox and shift forks. tear it down do your assesment then hit up one of the dealers(like Halls), OEM parts are really priced reasonable on these things (they are not cheap for sure, but the quality is high), I also paid the @200bucks for the SM counterbalance shaft assy with drive gears(welded the crank gear) and this was well worth the xtra bucks. updated my water pump with the 10 model higher flow one as well. and a bunch of other little stuff.

My old 2007 510te was rebuilt/top end only at 450hrs. I purchased a Wossner piston and a full gasket kit just in case something else would rear its ugly head. One would think I would need a complete top and bottom end rebuild but the the head was nice and leak free and the crank/con rod had no play. I LOVE HUSKY's.

BTW 06 and 07's are the same
