according to the specs I see, the 2012 TE511 comes with 15/51 sprockets and a Regina 520 o-ring chain (Regina 135 ORN 6-LKS).
    Anyone know if that's correct?
    I'd like to get a spare master-link.

I wouldn't mind to gear the TE down a little bit.
Might wait til the stock stuff wears out, any guesses how long that will be?

My favourite rear sprockets are Dirt Tricks, but their website only shows a 52 tooth rear, not much of a change from 51.
Their website is a bit vague if their rear sprockets fit the TE511, just says "Most dirt models, 1990 - 2012".
Is the TE511 rear sprocket the same as all the other Huskies?

Dirt Tricks does say that their front sprockets do NOT fit the 511, so where is the best source for these?

The 2011 had them. I changed to 14/53 & its a lot better. Knocks a fair bit of top speed off. I don't need a bike that does a 170kph in the bush.

Yes, they are the same rear sprockets as the older bikes.

    I ran a 13/51 on my 2012 511 and it's a slow cruise , 35-40 mph in the mid upper-range.

Croc, you are geared down 10.2% from stock and Rearwheelin, you are down 13.3% from stock.
    That's quite a bit !
    I'm looking for a smaller drop, could get there with 15/53 (-3.8%) or 14/50 (-4.8%) or even 14/51 (-6.7%).
Where did you guys get sprockets? and how did you like them?

Unless you want to ride at high speed, Which I don't as most of our riding is tight single line 1st-3rd gear with some open stuff thrown in. My old top speed was about 170kph & new is about 120kph. Bike now has more off the bottom & is less prone to stall in tight stuff. A lot of guys I know whom have a 449/511 are a lot happier with this gearing.I would have put a 50 on the back, but stealth don't do them.
Currently run a genuine on the front & a genuine Husky stealth on the rear.

Great trail, great video. I can see why you geared so low.
Looks like you were out there alone, too.
Husky should put a camera crew on you, would sell a stack of these bikes.

The caption or Voice over would be...” The trail, it's rated at a Pucker Factor of 10+, most people would take a mule on this trail. I think I'll take my Husky”

Right on man. I too like taking my fully street legal bike to dirt rides and showing what it can do. Fun honking to pass the "real" dirt bikes.

    Thanks everyone for the advice.
I just ordered a couple Dirt Trick rear sprockets and will grab a couple fronts from Motosportz.

Here we are at the top of the mountain that inspired me to go looking for lower gearing.
2 Huskies, a bunch of pumpkins and a couple Yamahas.

Hi I am currently in Brazil with no dealers for hundreds of miles. To save me a job of stripping down 2013 te511,can anyone tell me how many slines on the front sprocket as I wish to drop down to a 14 tooth as they may have at a BMW outlet nearby
    Many thanks

Hi Mark- do you mean splines on the shaft or teeth on the sprocket (IIRC: 15 teeth is stock; splines- I don't know and I'm guessing that's what you want).

It is not as hard as it looks to take the front counter shaft sprocket off; maybe bring it in to compare with the BMW one.

    good luck.

Many thanks for your reply,I did remove the front sprocket after watching the Italian YouTube clip and I can confirm for my 2013 model te511 (te477 in Brazil) there are 18 splines on the front sprocket.

BTW, Chipster- does that mean that the husky sprocket & BMW sprocket are the same?
