can anyone tell me what voltage i should be getting at the battery with the bike running? It's reading 12.5v idling but I feel it should be closer to 14. at 60hrs the starter is only working half the time. it turns over very slow. based on all my internet reading it appears to be a common problem. thanks in advance.

Sorry its was a 6 hour drive this morning. My 14' TE 300 shows 14.41 volts on the battery when running. 12.67 when sitting. I hope this helps. George

No problem. Let us know what you find. That seems low, does the voltage increase with rpm's?

No, is steady regardless of throttle input. Will do, plan to mess with it the next day or so. I watched a video where the plug from the rectifier was mucked up and kept the running voltages at 12.5 like mine. Cleaned it up and jumped to 14.4. Hoping my fix it that simple.

I know this is old but kids and work kept me from it. The plug off the rectifier was fine but one of the terminals on the relay was corroded. I believe the red white stripped. Cleaned it up and running voltage is at 14.4. I have a 16 300. When I unplugged the relay a bunch of water ran out. I washed it a month ago. It's 20 here and a few kicks she fired up. After riding the e start seemed much better. Thanks again pdl.

pull your stator cover and check your wires, we did mods to eliminate a chafe/squeezed output wires issue. this is a new engine machine yes? 2017+?

For a 16 300 but I'm going to pull it apart this winter to verify all is well

This may be rare but on a different bike i had a bad fuse that had a 4v drop across it. Cam
