TE250 or 310? Best year for parts availability?

Considering picking up one of the older italian huskies for my girlfriend. With SWM taking over the factory. Which bike and years of the older huskies are going to have the best parts availability? Either the 250 or the 310 will work, and we just need to know what years to aim for.

parts availability? I'd guess '08-'10 maybe or even '07 carbed. (250s were xlites a year earlier than 310s). But 450, 510s were basically the same bike with a comfortable power band- but they pull hard up top. I'd guess more 450s were sold than the others. btw, these are the bikes SWM is building still. sorta.

betcha she would like a 450 with a rekluse.

SWM still makes the 2009 and earlier "big block" red head style motors.

They do not make the "x-lite" motors.

That means pre 2010 250 and pre 2011 310 are the same.

SWM does not make a 250 so I'd look at a 2010 or earlier 310 or 510 for parts commonality with SWM

All that is exactly what I meant. ...with the addition that they all are the same bike & engine (basically).

so maybe a 450 with a throttle stop & a rekluse? weighs pretty much the same as a 250 IIRC.

I own a 2010 TXC 250 which has the X-Lite engine in it and is almost identical to the TE 250 and 310's. a lot of aftermarket engine parts are hard to impossible to find and any OEM parts are super expensive. I'm having to replace the stator on my bike and it's going to cost me $850 just for that.

Out of curiosity, have you tried reaching out to Hall's Cycle in Springfield, IL?

Is putting a non x-lite motor in a X-lite chassis an option?

    The xlite is considerably smaller.
